The Higher Institute for Specialized Studies in Heliopolis is considered one of Egypt’s long-established and prestigious educational institutions. Founded in 1975, it has built a strong reputation as a leading institute in its specialized fields.

The institute offers comprehensive four-year academic programs through which students earn a bachelor’s degree in one of the following majors: Tourism Studies and Hotel & Hospitality Management, Tour Guiding, Business Information Systems, and Management Information Systems.

Tour Guiding Department

The Tour Guiding Program aims to prepare graduates with the essential knowledge and practical skills required for a professional career in tourism guidance.

It helps students develop strong communication abilities, cultural awareness, leadership, and time-management skills. The program also trains them to apply a scientific approach in handling crises and emergency situations, while ensuring they have a solid understanding of the laws and regulations governing the tourism sector.

The Tourism Studies Department is one of the institute’s core academic divisions, striving to achieve leadership in tourism education through both high-quality teaching and impactful scientific research.

Students develop a diverse set of skills through learning, analyzing, and applying key concepts related to the hospitality sector, along with gaining a solid understanding of the fundamental principles that govern hotel operations at both local and regional levels.

Business Information Systems Department

The program focuses on studying and analyzing digital data using advanced computing technologies, with a strong emphasis on efficient data management and processing. It supports a wide range of fields, including communication enhancement, records management, decision-making support, data analytics, cloud computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), e-commerce, as well as data and network security, while providing hands-on exposure to modern technologies.

In addition, the program equips students with practical skills to improve system performance, manage resources efficiently, resolve bottlenecks, and predict system behavior under peak workloads.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Ghada Abdullah, a workshop entitled “First Aid – Saving a Life” will, God willing, be held and delivered by Dr. Khaled Bin Al-Waleed, Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality Management, on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Prof. Dr. Ghada Abdullah, Dean of the Higher Institute for Specialized Studies, along with the Vice Dean, the Director of the Quality Assurance Unit, the Heads of the Scientific Departments, and faculty members, inaugurated the Employment Forum at the Institute, with the participation of a large number of companies across various specializations.
